I'm looking at getting a hook reveal 5 splitshot. Can I put a triple shot transducer on it to have side scan?

I just bought one off of FBM for $25. Good deal compared to what else was being sold on Ebay and FBM. What is the largest MMA card that we can put in it? The manual mentions 16 MBs. Also has anyone used Radar with this unit?

Is there an adapter to mount transducer to trolling motor?

Really like it. A shame it doesn’t have sidescan though, if it did it would be a true “all in one” unit! But the pricepoint is awesome.

What is missing is a video on using the "settings/networks" screen to set up HDS unit to the S3100 and AI transducer. Dealing with the "call center"/ product support is not fun and a waste of time. I finally got it done (hit and miss) using Lowrance's very generic video on networking units. I love the Genesis Live feature and I am happy with my unit's higher frequency now.

Wait... so Lowrance released the Eagle Eye 9, and this Recon trolling motor won't be compatible with it? That's so dumb. I'm trying to come up with an ecosystem for my boat and from all the videos/reviews I've seen and read about, Lowrance seems to be my first choice so far, but if the 2 newer models aren't even compatible, that's dumb.

After watching this video I decided to go with Active target 1. Mainly because I got a real good price on clearance and at the price I didn't see enough value in moving up to AT2. I had to laugh, the day it was delivered all of a sudden I keep hearing about Eagle eye real time sonor for $999. I thought just my luck, but for the extra I paid just having the Elite FS9 and the bigger coverage area and scout mode was worth it. But a year ago, I would have bought the Eagle Eye

Hello, Very interesting vidéo. I have a question. On my boat, I have installed a Lowrance HDS 9 Live with a 3 in 1 transducer and recently, I have installed a S3100 module. I would like to know which is the best transducer to install to get cleanest image and the maximum details ? Following what I have seen on your video, I think that the best transducer is actually the 000-16061-001 Active imaging HD 3 in 1 Fishreveal HW. Is it correct ? Thanks in advance for your advice and best regards. Patrick

The new unit ( Eagle 9 t/s ) works / will work better with the AI 3in1 Transducer, depths / clarity and better image resolution .. I used it on the Hook Reveal 7 t/s. The original transducers are not great in depths deeper than 30ft me thinks.

Finally getting back to the Xi series usefulness and accuracy.

Nice review and interesting product release from Lowrance. It's a shame they are still crippling the charting by not supporting satellite/raster images. The first gen Hook units supported satellite imagery even though the map image was slow to refresh. I have to believe with the modern processors in these new units this feature could be implemented again, Lowrance just chooses not to. My Ti 2 units can do this, however it would be nice to have the feature in a 4 or 5" model for paddlesport/backcountry purposes with less power draw.

This would be a superb kayak model.

Appreciate the questions at the end. It will be interesting to see how many jump in at $999. Also nice having no black box from a weight perspective for those that ice fish. The question I have is would a person rather spend $999 on this or wait for a sale on the Garmin 93sv + LVS32 for $1599? (Wider beam, supports side scan, and you are in the Garmin ecosystem + usually a GT54 with it)

Thank you very much for an excellent video. My 2000 Monte Carlo, made in Canada is a gem but the blower fan started vibrating. After seeing how to change the cabin filter I took it apart and discovered no filter, just a mouse nest in the blower. All good now!

Thanks, my grandfather's 2001 monte carlo ss had been sitting outside for the past 7 years and I am starting to get it working again, the instructions on the filter box sucked. So I would not have been able to do it without this video
